NATIONAL SCREENING PROGRAMME
Colorectal screening
All individuals aged 50–74
Who it’s for
The current programme page lists ages 50–74. Eligible people without an invitation can call to request a kit. Some older official documents show narrower ages; ask the Centre if unsure.
Before your test
Read and follow the kit instructions. Check the official guidance before collecting a sample if you have active haemorrhoid bleeding, blood in urine or are menstruating.
What happens
The kit checks a small stool sample. Collect and return it exactly as the supplied instructions explain.
Results & next steps
A positive FIT needs further assessment, usually colonoscopy. Ask the team when to expect your result and contact them if it has not arrived. Follow their advice on repeat screening.
